Art of Being a Woman

"Instead of asking, 'What should a woman do—what is her role?' it would be far more helpful to ask, 'What is a woman—what is her design?' and, 'Why did God place Woman in our midst?"
— John Eldredge (Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul)

Captivating by John and Staci Eldredge is a book I've read more than once, and I wouldn't mind doing so again. It speaks of God's design for women and their nature, unveiling their deepest desires and longings and hurts. Its a book that I love sharing to my friends over and over again, and if only we had a sleepover about it, we'd probably stay up all night reading it and sharing whatever we're learning from it.

Yesterday, I got an invitation to this event called The Art of Being a Woman, which I was distinctly attracted to because the topics which will be discussed during the event listed on the invite we the same topics I read in Captivating. FINALLY!  HAHA

"Aware of our deep failings, we pour contempt on our own hearts for wanting more. Oh, we long for intimacy and for adventure; we long to be the Beauty of some great story. But the desires set deep in our hearts seem like a luxury, granted only to those women who get their acts together. The message to the rest of us is try harder."

Awesome artwork done by my friend and one of my CADs mommies, Danika Navarro! Check out her page at www.hello-rio.com :)

Join me as we have make-overs a fashion show and talk about the design and purpose of being a woman. Though the event says nothing about being inspired by one of my multo-favorito books, I think it'll brush up on a few topics and help attendees understand why I love it so much. WOOOH! :) Hope to see you ladies there!

"God has set within you a femininity that is powerful and tender, fierce and alluring. No doubt it has been misunderstood. Surely it has been assaulted. But it is there, your true heart, and it is worth recovering. You are captivating."
— Stasi Eldredge (Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul)

  1. "Captivating" is the companion book to "Wild at Heart", written specifically for women. This book was pretty good, great to read when you are going through a tough time. It has great insight.
